We got the mushroom fever after growing our own mushrooms years ago. We find the mushroom cultivation process from start to finish to be fascinating! From a culture slant, to a petri dish, to grain spawn, to substrate, and eventually seeing the little mushroom primordia emerge, it is something special.
After receiving many contaminated, senesced, and low quality cultures from online retailers we at The Mushroom Lab decided to make it our mission to offer high quality cultures to the world. Nothing is more frustrating to a beginning cultivator than trying to grow mushrooms when the starting point, the culture, is poor. We aim to fix that!
Spores from mushrooms can produce a variety of genetics. Some of the traits are desirable and others not. We have selected cultures that contain genetics that produce large fruitbodies in a reasonable amount of time. Perfect for growing mushrooms for your kitchen table or for your local farmers market.
